Bio
Dr. Daniel Moyano is currently the head of PPG’s Science and Technology digital team, leveraging the use of chemistry-informed Machine Learning methodologies to accelerate the discovery of new materials, and leading R&D digital transformation. Daniel joined PPG in 2015 as a Research Chemist, where he developed a variety of now commercial next generation OEM coatings, and more recently held the position of Innovation Associate, driving PPG’s innovation initiatives. Given his expertise in harnessing the power of data science in material research, Dr. Moyano has been a featured speaker at Gordon Research Conference and more recently ACS National Conference. Daniel completed his B.Sc. (summa cum laude) in Chemistry at the National University of Colombia - Bogota in 2009 and in 2015 he earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, working on quantitative structure property relationships of the surface chemistry of nanomaterials. His combined work has resulted in 40+ scientific publications and numerous granted patents.
